Ariza Encourages People to Be More Proactive in Reporting Health Protocols Violations

Jakarta Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) encouraged people to be more proactive in reporting health protocols violations. It is in line with central government's efforts in Enforcing Micro-Scale Community Activity Restriction in preventing COVID-19 transmission.

We ask Jakarta residents, when they see violations, for example not wearing mask, to warn, educate, advise them, or if necessary to report them

"In Jakarta, we have enforced tight control areas since a year ago. Now, Micro PPKM. So, we agree, are in line, support, and continue it to the lower level," he asserted, Tuesday (2/16).

According to him, Jakarta Government has formed task forces at RT level and even formed COVID-19 cadres in families. The goal is to ensure health protocols implementation at home. His side hopes in the next two weeks, number of COVID-19 cases will gradually decline.

"We ask Jakarta residents, when they see violations, for example not wearing mask, to warn, educate, advise them, or if necessary to report them. Likewise if there are restaurants, cafes, hotels, offices, and other business places that violate the regulation, please report it," he asserted.

He wants residents to be eyes, ears, and mouth of government and they are expected to always remind each other thus efforts to fight COVID-19 can be more effective.

"There are kampung siaga, kampung aman, kampung tangguh which formed in each RWs. We empower them to restrict people who pass exit and entry gates, provide hand washing facilities, clean area regularly with disinfectant, patrol, and work in shifts," he said.
